About Candace
Candace Jenkins is a business owner and entrepreneur who has operated her mobile bartending business for six years. She specializes in mobile bar services and event experiences, managing setups and a team while catering to weddings, birthdays, tailgates, private gatherings, and other special events. Her role involves business management, event coordination, customer service, and multitasking. Jenkins also works as an administrative assistant in the school district, a position that provides flexibility, after spending 20 years as a legal assistant. She holds a master's degree in multidisciplinary human resources, which she pursued as a personal goal after earning her associate's degree right after high school and her bachelor's degree through online classes starting in 2008. Jenkins values honesty and creating a fun, pleasant atmosphere for clients, and she advises aspiring mobile bartenders to conduct research, be genuine, and possess strong people skills.

01What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
To keep moving forward. Don't stop. Please reach your goals.
02What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
If that's what they really want to do, they have to do the research. And start, and be genuine with it. To be a mobile bartender, you have to be a people person. Be able to smile and deal with all types of different attitudes and different kinds of people. You have to ask yourself, is this really what I want? It's put forth a lot of energy. And you have to be able to deal with different people of all walks.
03What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
The challenge now is just steady work, to have work constantly.
04What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
I'm an honest and good person. And I love making people smile while enjoying their cocktails in a fun and pleasant atmosphere. My values are just doing a good job, being honest, and making people happy.
