Candace Lee
I've spent over 13 years in the architecture, engineering, and construction field, with the past year focused specifically on wastewater treatment. What drew me to utilities and water is that these are things that are going to be around no matter what happens in our country. I wanted stability, but also a new challenge that was always going to be changing and gives you places to develop and learn. Currently, I serve as outside sales on the East Coast, specifically the Southeast, for Cloacina. I handle project execution, client management, and relationship management. People call me the problem solver - when clients have issues after buying one of our plants, I'm their go-to person. I coordinate with the right engineers and field teams, troubleshoot vendor issues, and work directly with project engineers. A big part of my role is teaching people about our wastewater treatment systems and helping different counties and municipalities understand what they can do right now to prepare for the future and meet their permit limits. I work closely with my sales partner to refine our sales process, update proposals with new language, and address East Coast-specific needs like weatherizing systems for freezing temperatures, which is different from our West Coast base. I absolutely adore my team and appreciate the freedom they give me, along with how quickly I can call and ask questions - they know what talent I have and are building on it.

What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
I look for long-term stability and things that are going to be around for a long time. That's why I was drawn to utilities and water - these are things that will be around no matter what happens in our country. I wanted stability, but also a new challenge that was always going to be changing and gives you places to develop and learn. I grew up in a household full of leaders, and I went to what I call the School of Hard Knocks, where a lot of things weren't tolerable but I already had a plan for my future. I absolutely adore my team and appreciate the freedom they give me, but also how quickly I can call and ask questions and they are ready to educate. They know what talent I have and are building on that talent, which is something I was looking for.
