Candace Y. Moore

Emerging psychologist and research scholar with a strong foundation in clinical science, neurobiology, and health disparities research. Currently a Psychology PhD student at Virginia Commonwealth University and a Southern Regional Education Board (SREB) State Doctoral Fellow, conducting advanced research under expert mentorship.

Previously completed a master’s degree in clinical psychology at American University and served as an IRTA/UGSP Fellow at the National Institutes of Health, contributing to impactful research initiatives. Early research experience includes neurogenetics and behavioral studies using CRISPR/Cas9, as well as psychological and epidemiological analyses related to alcohol response and well-being.

Demonstrates a strong commitment to advancing psychological science through interdisciplinary research, with a focus on translating findings into meaningful contributions to mental health and health equity.
