Ten minutes with Candace

01What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute my success to personal grit, persistence, and the determination to keep moving forward. I have always been someone who sees an opportunity and goes after it with focus, flexibility, and resilience. Just as important has been the support of my network—the mentors, friends, and trusted advisors who have become my personal “board of me.” Success is not just about networking; it is about building genuine, long-term relationships with people who believe in you, challenge you, and recognize the value you bring.

02What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

My advice to young women entering this industry is simple: show up and be present. Take the initiative to introduce yourself, build relationships, and seek opportunities to connect with leaders and decision-makers. Stay engaged beyond the immediate opportunity by maintaining relationships, following industry developments, joining relevant communications, and staying informed about the issues shaping the field. Success comes from being knowledgeable, consistent, and intentional about building a strong professional network.

03What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

The values that are most important to me, both personally and professionally, are credibility, trustworthiness, and dependability. I believe in showing up for people when they need support and following through on my commitments. Whether it is helping someone advance their career, providing guidance, or simply being a reliable resource, I value being someone others can count on. I also believe in nurturing the qualities and strengths that make each of us unique and using them to make a positive impact on those around us.
