Candace Singh
Candace Singh is a finance and creative professional whose career spans global investment banking, oversight of hedge fund and private equity fund managers, and independent filmmaking. She is based in the United States and is known for combining deep corporate expertise with entrepreneurial drive and a growing body of work in film production. Her professional journey reflects a consistent theme of adaptability, leadership, and a commitment to both analytical rigor and storytelling. Candace Singh began her career in finance at Morgan Stanley while still in high school, launching a 15-year trajectory across hedge fund compliance and senior roles in major financial institutions. She went on to work at Bank of America on the Mergers and Acquisitions Business Selection and Conflicts team before advancing to Goldman Sachs. At Goldman Sachs, she progressed rapidly from analyst to associate to Vice President within consecutive years, working primarily in Business Selection and Conflicts. In this role, she helped evaluate and approve investment banking transactions such as IPOs and mergers and acquisitions, coordinated cross-functional stakeholder decisions, and assessed emerging industries including cannabis and artificial intelligence. Her work required fast-paced judgment and strategic thinking, particularly during high-volume deal environments and the COVID-19 pandemic. During the pandemic, a personal turning point led Candace Singh to re-evaluate her priorities after the passing of her grandmother, inspiring her to preserve family legacy and pursue storytelling. She left Goldman Sachs to help save a church in Queens from bankruptcy, where she successfully raised over one million dollars while serving as president of the board, and later enrolled in independent film school to develop narrative work rooted in family history. She subsequently founded her own film production company and later returned to corporate finance at JPMorgan Chase, where she vetted hedge funds and private equity funds for the wealth management platform while simultaneously producing and directing her own short film. In March 2026, she transitioned fully into filmmaking after completing a feature film production in which she served as sole producer, managing everything from casting and locations to post-production and festival submissions. She is now focused on writing and producing new feature films, leveraging her corporate background to operate with precision, structure, and agility across every stage of production.

What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to my family; they are my superpower. My mother and father are the embodiment of grit; they were each the first of their respective nuclear families to immigrate to America from Guyana. They also poured everything they had into raising me and my two siblings. They also instilled the belief that I could achieve whatever I set my mind to. That support has carried through into adulthood; when I pivoted from finance to film, there was no hesitation on their part.
What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
I live by my high school yearbook quote. Per Abraham Lincoln, "Always bear in mind that your own resolution to succeed is more important than any other one thing.”
