Her Interview
Ten minutes with Candy
01What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to a blend of driving business turnaround and growth while placing a strong emphasis on mentorship and talent development. While I have achieved meaningful financial and operational results for organizations, the most fulfilling aspect of my work has been helping others grow through coaching, professional development, and skill-building that extends into both their careers and personal lives. A key influence in my journey has been Michael Stewart at WorkFX, whose guidance strengthened my understanding of leadership, talent management, and the integration of technology within business strategy. His mentorship has had a lasting impact on my approach, and I continue to value his advice as part of my ongoing professional growth.
02What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
My advice to young women entering this industry is to focus on operational excellence and take pride in running things exceptionally well, even when that work is not always visible or publicly recognized. Some of the most impactful contributions in business happen in day-to-day execution—processes, consistency, and reliability—that often keep organizations functioning and successful behind the scenes. Because this work can go unnoticed, I also encourage actively creating visibility and recognition of others, ensuring that strong performance is acknowledged and rewarded.
03What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
One of the biggest challenges in the field right now is navigating a volatile economic landscape, particularly around building and sustaining in-person experiences. This shift has required organizations to rethink how they engage clients and deliver value in a changing environment. At the same time, it presents a strong opportunity for growth, especially for agencies that diversify their services, strengthen internal systems, and scale with greater operational rigor. Those that adapt effectively are better positioned to create more resilient and sustainable business models moving forward.
04What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
The values most important to me in both my work and personal life include mentorship, talent development, and operational excellence. I place a strong emphasis on collaboration and learning from diverse perspectives, as I believe they strengthen both teams and outcomes. I am also deeply committed to supporting mental health initiatives, along with creating environments where people feel supported, capable, and empowered to grow.
