Cara Storer, MS, EdD is a dedicated high school science educator with Elkhart Community Schools in Elkhart, Indiana, where she teaches a range of courses including Dual Credit Biology, AP Biology, Honors Biology, and General Biology. Cara is currently pursuing a Doctor of Education (EdD) in Science Curriculum and Instruction with a minor in Computer Science at Indiana University Bloomington. Her academic focus centers on designing and implementing gamified learning experiences to enhance student engagement, critical thinking, and mastery of scientific concepts. She also holds a graduate certificate in Computer Science and maintains professional credentials such as AP Biology certification and Online Faculty Certification. Through teaching, coaching, and curriculum innovation, Cara continues to shape meaningful, future-ready learning experiences for students at both the secondary and postsecondary levels.

I attribute my success to pursuing what I want with intention and confidence, while remaining open to new opportunities and experiences. Embracing growth, adaptability, and a willingness to try new things has allowed me to continuously learn, evolve, and move forward in my career.

The best career advice I’ve ever received is to work hard, stay focused, and remain determined to consistently do my best work.

I would advise young women entering my industry to develop strong communication skills, confidently voice their ideas and opinions, and strive to make a positive difference every day.
