Her Interview

Ten minutes with Caren

01What do you attribute your success to?

I would say just always striving to be better. There's just a lot of growth opportunities, whether it's career-wise, personally, whatever that looks like, just always like there's always room to improve. Nobody's perfect, but there's a lot you can do to just make an impact for whether that's those around you or in your industry.

02What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

I would say try anything and everything. For example, like when I was in college, clearly my pivoting, I feel like you come in thinking you know what you want to do, but don't limit yourself in that sense. You might know you like something, and then you could find you don't like it, or you like something better. I would just say don't limit yourself in that way. There's just so many opportunities for you to discover what you like, and that can evolve with time, and to just be open to that change and growth.

03What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

One challenge would be just kind of obviously there's a lot of advancements with AI and so many capabilities there, but I do like doing the work myself. Finding the balance of where to keep up with it as opposed to just sticking tried and true. On the opportunities side, every field needs marketing so there's a lot of opportunity for growth whether in specific industries or specific trends. When I came into my role there wasn't really a marketing person prior so there was just so much that could have been done.

04What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

I would say ambition is a big one, just always striving towards something. I am a very big need-purpose kind of person. Putting your best foot forward and trying. Making use of every opportunity that comes your way. Making use of your network, speaking to people, treating everything like a conversation.
