Cariann Herb is an accomplished technology and product management leader with more than a decade of experience driving digital transformation, product delivery, and AI innovation. Currently serving as an AI-focused Digital Product Management Leader at Allstate, she specializes in developing human-centered, AI-infused solutions that help organizations optimize digital portfolios, accelerate adoption, and achieve sustainable business outcomes. Her expertise spans product management, program delivery, user experience, cloud technologies, and enterprise transformation, supported by a strong foundation in organizational development and adult education.
Her career journey began with a passion for technology that emerged in the late 2000s while working in strategic communications. After earning a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration and Adult Education from Ottawa University, she pursued professional technology certifications and transitioned into digital workplace and product management roles around 2015. Over the years, she has held leadership positions with organizations including Microsoft, Gallagher, Northwestern Mutual, and Allstate, leading initiatives in AI adoption, Microsoft 365 transformation, cloud solutions, governance, and enterprise productivity. She has also earned numerous industry certifications and is recognized for her ability to align technology strategy with business value through collaboration and innovation.
Cariann attributes much of her success to a mentor who recognized her strengths and encouraged her to pursue product management, helping her discover a career path where she could thrive. She values honesty and integrity and is passionate about empowering others to build confidence, overcome challenges, and achieve their goals. 01What do you attribute your success to?
I have a specific story about that. When I first started out in the product management space it was new. I had a leader, a female leader, in my life who was the one who basically told me, you're going to be moving into this product management role... She said, I want you to give me 90 days... She always believed in me, and she always pointed out the strengths that I had that I actually thought were weaknesses... She said, one of your biggest strengths is your just because the person that's the loudest is in the room is not necessarily the smartest... She really pushed me to get to really build confident. And ever since then I've taken that with me. She's been a huge influence in my life.
02What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
This is an excellent space for women to be in, and to really showcase their strengths in every way, and really bring themselves wholly to this space. We have a strong voice and good perspective as women to influence this space.
03What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
Honesty and integrity in anything that I do. I really love helping people. I love building other people up. It really makes my heart happy. I love seeing the other people's successes in whatever it means, not necessarily career, but anything. And when people are facing challenges, and they emerge out of those challenges, that just thrills me. I just absolutely love it. So that's just probably my favorite thing, because it just makes my heart happy. I want to see people thrive.
