Her Story

About Carin

Carin Rush is a New Home Sales Consultant with Richmond American Homes in Aurora, Colorado, where she has spent nearly seven years helping buyers navigate the path to homeownership. With more than two decades of experience in real estate, her career has taken her through nearly every facet of the industry, from serving as a transaction coordinator and handling short sales during the 2007 housing crisis, to working as a loan processor and later as a licensed independent broker. That diverse foundation eventually led her to new home sales, a role that allowed her problem-solving instincts and relationship-driven approach to fully come together. Her dedication to her clients and craft was formally recognized in 2023, when she was named Richmond American Homes' top sales associate for the entire state of Colorado, an honor she has since built on with additional recognitions including the 2024 and 2023 Central Division MVP titles.

Rush's approach to business is deeply informed by her Ninja Selling Certification, a training program that reinforced her belief in giving generously, serving clients wholeheartedly, and prioritizing relationships over transactions. That philosophy dovetails naturally with her Christian faith, which she credits as the source of the tenacity and perseverance that have carried her through changing markets and economic downturns alike. She attended the University of Denver, where she studied business administration, and continues to apply that early business grounding to the practical, day-to-day problem-solving her role demands.

Beyond her sales work, Rush is a committed mentor to newer associates entering the industry, particularly young women, whom she encourages to stay persistent and never take rejection personally. Her community involvement extends to the Mothers of Preschoolers (MOPS) program and broader church outreach efforts, both reflections of the same service-oriented values she brings to her career. As rising interest rates continue to reshape affordability in the housing market, Rush remains focused on the opportunities within new construction, guiding buyers toward competitive financing and incentives while continuing to grow as a trusted resource, mentor, and problem-solver in her field.

Her Interview

Ten minutes with Carin

01What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute my success to my faith. My relationship with the Lord has given me the tenacity and perseverance to keep going, even through the toughest markets. I try to treat every client and colleague the way I would want to be treated, and I believe putting people first, rather than focusing on personal gain, is what has carried me through more than twenty years in this business.

02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

The best advice I've received came through my Ninja Selling training: focus on giving, serve the client, and put their needs ahead of your own commission. I've carried that philosophy into every relationship I build, and it has shaped the way I approach sales as something rooted in service rather than transactions. I'd also encourage anyone in this field to stay open to unexpected paths; I explored several sides of real estate before I found my true fit in new home sales.

03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

I'd tell them to be tenacious and persistent, and to never take a "no" personally. Every no brings you one step closer to a yes, so the key is to keep moving forward and not let rejection define your ability. I also love mentoring newer associates, because I want them to know that resilience, not perfection, is what builds a lasting career in this industry.

04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

Higher interest rates are one of the biggest challenges we're facing right now, since they make homeownership feel less attainable for a lot of buyers. At the same time, I see real opportunity in new construction, where builders can offer competitive incentives and lower financing rates, sometimes as low as 3.99% to 5.375%, that help offset those affordability concerns. My varied background across brokerage, loan processing, and new home sales also allows me to help clients navigate these complicated conditions with practical solutions.

05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

Honesty, faith, integrity, and service guide everything I do, both professionally and personally. I try to treat every person the way I would want to be treated, and I believe in giving of myself and putting others before my own interests. Those same values carry into my life outside of work, especially through my involvement in church outreach and my support for other mothers in my community.
