Carla Farrand

Carla Farrand is a dedicated community leader and educator with over a decade of experience in extension services and organizational leadership. She currently serves as the County Director for CSU Extension in Garfield County, Colorado, where she oversees programs that support local agriculture, youth development, and community education. Carla’s work emphasizes building strong community connections, fostering sustainable practices, and empowering individuals to achieve their personal and professional goals.

Before joining CSU Extension, Carla held a variety of roles across multiple industries, demonstrating her versatility and commitment to service. Her professional journey includes positions in inventory management and on-site consulting with companies like Grainger and National Oilwell Varco, as well as a long tenure as a flight attendant with Frontier Airlines. She also directed the St. Vincent General Hospital District Foundation, where she managed fundraising, grant writing, and program development, highlighting her ability to lead initiatives that create meaningful impact.

Carla holds a Master’s degree in Organizational Leadership and Professional Communication from Colorado State University and a Bachelor’s degree in Home Economics Education from Oklahoma Panhandle State University. Her broad skill set spans purchasing, inventory management, grant management, and program development. Passionate about community service, Carla leverages her extensive professional experience and education to guide local initiatives, mentor emerging leaders, and strengthen the Garfield County community.
