Ten minutes with Carla
01What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
Don't focus so much on what you love and you're passionate about. Focus on how you want to live your life. A lot of people focus on what do I want to do in life? What do I want to be in life? And really, it's focusing on how do I want to live my life. And I think with that, everything else kind of falls into play, as long as you have good habits, and discipline, and you stay focused. You wake up every day reminding yourself what is the why that makes you cry, what continues to drive you.
02What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
Figure out how you want to live your life and then reverse engineer into that. And put the necessary habits and discipline in place to achieve that life. And keep your why in front of you.
03What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
Honesty and integrity, being transparent to earn trust and develop relationships. Staying true north, being rooted, true to yourself and authentic. Resilience, having the courage to step outside your comfort zone, and respecting those along the way.
