Carlota Gonzalez Fernandez

I'm in my senior year at Avery University in Danville, Virginia, where I'm double-majoring in Aviation Business and Management Science and set to graduate in May. My professional experience has been diverse and hands-on. During the last two summers, I worked at the airport as a manager of promotions, where I encouraged people at the airport to shop at the stores by offering them gifts in exchange for receipts, and I was in charge of managing that entire promotion. Currently, I'm working as an assistant manager for a hotel company in Danville, where I help my manager organize events, create schedules for the week, and manage solutions to any problems that come up at the hotel. This role has been my most notable professional achievement so far because even though I don't really want to do hotel management in the future, it's given me hands-on experience in real-life situations that has been incredibly helpful. I also work as a tutor at college, helping students with finance, accounting, Spanish, math, and other subjects. I'm originally from Spain and am currently in the final steps of getting my OPT approved so I can stay in the U.S. and work here for a while after graduation.
