About Carmen
Carmen Martin serves as an Account Executive for HCA in the home health sector, where she has worked for 20 years. Based in Houston, Texas, she specializes in home health, hospice, and care for Medicare patients, frequently visiting skilled nursing facilities to provide education on the benefits of these services. With a marketing degree, Carmen transitioned into the field after a personal experience with her great-grandmother's hospice care in Tennessee, which inspired her commitment to supporting both patients and caregivers. She attributes her success to prioritizing her faith, representing the kingdom first in all her endeavors. Carmen is known for her integrity, consistency in building relationships, and creative approaches to standing out in a competitive market. Outside of work, she volunteers with autism and special needs children at her church and participates in trail rides with the Word of Restoration Trail Riders.

01What do you attribute your success to?
I work for the kingdom first. I'm representing the kingdom. And whatever job he places me on, I represent him first, then that company.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
Let your word be your bond. If you say you're gonna do something, if you say you're gonna be somewhere, do that. Because that's your reputation that's on the line.
03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
Know how to read the room. Be consistent in your accounts. Be consistent in building up your business. Be consistent. Even when you don't feel like it, do it anyway. Get up. Go to work. Go through your account.
04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
To stand out because there are so many home health companies out there. You've got to make sure that you're always being creative and thinking outside the box.
05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
Your attitude is gonna attract what you put out. Verbage is very important to me. Watch your attitude, always, because words are important, and you attract what you send out.
