Ten minutes with Carmen
01What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to the unwavering support of my family, especially my mother and father, who encouraged me to continue my education while balancing the responsibilities of being a single parent. Their belief in me, along with their sacrifices and constant encouragement, gave me the strength and determination to persevere through challenges, pursue my goals, and continue growing both personally and professionally.
02What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
My advice to young women entering the healthcare industry is to be present, visible, and confident in the roles you pursue. Healthcare offers far more opportunities than the traditional paths of becoming a doctor or nurse, and it is important to showcase the many diverse careers and collaborative roles that contribute to exceptional patient care. By embracing these opportunities and demonstrating your unique skills, you can help broaden perspectives, inspire others, and make a meaningful impact across the healthcare field.
