Her Interview
Ten minutes with Carol
01What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to family, my upbringing, trying to be honest, straightforward, and always helpful with people. I was brought up in a nice home where my parents told me to treat people like you want to be treated, and of course put God first. Most of my success came from trying to help others and seeing the best in someone else.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
The best career advice I received was from a former mayor of Flint who said if there's things that I want to do, keep pushing at them even though when you tell people and they take your idea and use it, don't stop. Just keep going. Learn to curtail how much I divulge, get it in writing or have a contract so they cannot go and duplicate what you've asked them to do for them.
