Q

What do you attribute your success to?

I credit my success to the guidance of great mentors, the support of my partner, and the inspiration of my two children. From the start of my career, I prioritized finding mentors and advisors, as I believe having guidance is key to growth and success.

Q

What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

The best career advice I've ever received was to never stop asking questions, and always learn, and just don't be afraid. Don't let fear get in the way. I know personally that fear has prevented me from doing some stuff, so I just kept continuing to get that advice from people, and I just think it sticks. Even if you don't know what you're doing, you have to push through and not let fear hold you back.

Q

What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

Construction can be a challenging industry, but I would encourage young women not to be afraid, to keep learning, and to seek out a mentor. Reflecting on my own career transitions, especially into marketing and business development, I’ve learned that networking is essential. Building meaningful connections opens doors and creates opportunities, so I recommend attending events, engaging with peers, and cultivating a strong professional network—it truly makes a difference in advancing your career.

Q

What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

One of the biggest challenges in my field is convincing businesses to invest in marketing. I recently experienced this firsthand when I was laid off because my former company did not prioritize marketing. Some organizations operate under outdated assumptions, believing that longevity alone guarantees success, and they miss the opportunity to grow through strategic marketing. It’s frustrating because marketing is critical to business success, and there’s a stark contrast between companies that understand its value and those that do not.

Q

What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

The values that guide me most, both professionally and personally, are integrity and resilience. I strive to act with honesty and strong ethical principles, while remaining adaptable and persistent in the face of challenges.
