About Caroline
Caroline Melton has built a career in sales spanning approximately 10 years in the tech sector. Her journey began with retail sales roles at places like Aeropostle, Nordstrom, and a wedding dress store, where she developed a passion for consultative sales by helping clients with significant, emotional purchases. This led her to tech sales during college at MINDBODY, then into agricultural technology, a male-dominated field where she stood out as the only woman and achieved notable success by selling over a million acres of directed scouting. She later joined ClickUp, where she handled full sales cycles including client meetings, needs assessment, package matching, pricing, and negotiations, before recently leaving to explore new opportunities. Melton earned her degree in agricultural business from Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo. She credits her success to perseverance and a constant desire to improve, and values career advice about always having a role model within an organization to aspire toward for growth.

01What do you attribute your success to?
I would say perseverance and just a desire to constantly be improving.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
In my last role, I had a leader, when I was interviewing for a promotion, talk to me about being in an organization, you always want to have somebody that you want to be in their role. Like, there should always be something that you are looking to grow towards, and if there isn't, then it might not be the right place for you.
