Caroline Stryjewski

I am the Business Development Manager and Civil Engineering Consultant for Stormwater Professionals Group, where I manage anywhere from 15 to 25 civil engineering firms across the southern U.S., mainly in Houston with a couple of firms in Louisiana. I assist and consult on their stormwater design, focusing on how to keep the City of Houston and Harris County from flooding and how to keep businesses nice and dry and safe. We are responsible for the water quality, ensuring that the water that runs off roads and businesses goes into Galveston Bay without polluting our waters. I help design the drainage systems, bid out projects, do restorative projects like fixing ponds, and help people with their permitting. It's quite an undertaking, but I have an absolutely amazing boss who makes sure I have as much support as I need and isn't afraid to let me do exactly what I want to do. I've been in construction since I was young, helping out my parents in a mom-and-pop concrete company, and I kept finding myself coming back to construction even after trying short-term rentals and oil and gas. Construction just keeps pulling me back.
