Her Story

About Carolyn

Dr. Carolyn Coleman, PhD, is a publisher, educational consultant, pastor, Christian Master Life Coach, author, teacher, and faith-based academic leader based in Jackson, Mississippi. Known as “Dr. CC” and “The Lady of Wisdom,” she brings approximately 38 years of ministry experience, more than a decade in publishing, and extensive experience in education and academic leadership. She currently serves as Dean of Education for Kingdom Theological Seminary, where she provides leadership in theological education, Christian counseling formation, faith-based leadership development, and academic systems. Her work integrates wisdom, education, ministry, publishing, and emerging technology to help leaders and institutions pursue meaningful growth with integrity. Dr. Coleman began her professional career in communications, working as an announcer for country and R&B radio stations after completing her undergraduate studies. She later built a substantial career in education, including leadership of the Kids Kollege K–12 Academic and Cultural Enrichment Program at Jackson State University. Her academic background includes a Bachelor of Science in Mass Communication – Radio & Television and a Master's degree in Library Science & Educational Technology from Jackson State University, followed by a PhD in Philosophy Education from DaySpring Christian University. She is also a Certified Master Christian Life Coach through the American Association of Christian Therapists and has developed expertise in writing, editing, publishing, mentoring, curriculum development, Christian counseling, and educational consulting. As the founder and CEO of The Lady of Wisdom Publishing Company, she has supported authors in developing and publishing transformational works and has authored numerous books and anthologies, including her 2025 publication, *Vibrations of Healing*, and her 2026 devotional, *Rise, Heal & Lead*. Beyond her academic and professional accomplishments, Dr. Coleman is deeply committed to ministry, mentorship, and service. She has served as a pastor for approximately 38 years and is an ordained bishop, while also mentoring men and women in ministry and training women to develop their voices and transform their ideas into published books. Her community service during Hurricane Katrina earned her the President Award for Community Service from Jackson State University, and she has also received the Lady of Wisdom Award during her seminary education. She is particularly proud of persevering and prospering as one of the few women in ministry and of becoming the first person in her family to establish a publishing company. Today, her work as an educator, publisher, pastor, coach, author, and AI strategy consultant reflects her commitment to helping people move forward, recognize their God-given value, and use knowledge and technology with wisdom and integrity.

Her Interview

Ten minutes with Carolyn

01What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute my success to my mother's example of perseverance. She taught me never to give up and not to allow challenges to dictate my vision for myself or the vision I created for my children. Her life demonstrated the importance of continuing forward despite adversity, and that example has shaped how I approach both my personal and professional journey.

02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

The best advice I ever received came after my mother passed away. Through the grace of God, I experienced a visitation in which she gave me these words: “Don't look back. Keep moving forward.” That message continues to guide me. I believe in moving forward with purpose rather than allowing the past to prevent me from pursuing what lies ahead.

03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

Never settle. My own experience becoming a publisher began because I was dissatisfied with my first publication, and that dissatisfaction motivated me to learn, grow, and create something better. I now train women to navigate the journey from Step A to Step Z in writing and publishing their books. I encourage the next generation to recognize when something can be improved, pursue the knowledge necessary to make that improvement, and have the courage to create their own opportunities.

04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

I believe the biggest challenge and opportunity in my field right now is artificial intelligence. We must remain alert to technological changes and be willing to grow with them. At the same time, we have to understand that AI is a tool that we must learn to navigate responsibly; we should never allow the technology to navigate us. The opportunity is to integrate AI thoughtfully while maintaining human judgment, academic integrity, faith, and purpose.

05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

I believe in being true to my word and having the humility to say, “I don't know,” while being willing to search for the information or resources that can help find an answer. I believe in honoring who I am, recognizing my value, and understanding that I am God's masterpiece. I encourage others to do the same—to own their value, treasure who they are, and live and lead from that understanding.
