About Carolyn
Carolyn Gillman recently retired after serving 10 years as a precinct committeewoman in her city. With over 40 years of experience in government for the state of Illinois, she has worked as a politician, lobbyist, strategist, and advocate, with a primary focus on supporting women through issues such as reproductive rights and the election process. A non-traditional student, she earned her political science degree from the University of Illinois in 2013, graduating with honors while working full-time and part-time jobs, and she is a member of Pi Sigma Alpha, the national political science honor society. As a union retiree, she serves as administrator of her subchapter's Facebook page in Illinois. Gillman remains actively engaged in advocacy, including work with Planned Parenthood, lobbying efforts, fighting local data centers, and supporting candidates through persuasion and campaign activities.
