Her Story

About Carolyn

I've been in ministry for over 30 years, and it's always been my passion to win souls for Christ. I started doing chaplaincy work in 2017, and I currently volunteer as a chaplain with the Harris County Sheriff's Office. I've recently been hired as a hospice chaplain, where I'll be visiting patients in nursing homes, hospitals, and their homes. I've also been involved in film since 2000, when I started doing background work. Last year was a milestone for me when I landed a national eHealth commercial that ran in all 50 states from 2025 through March 2026. I'm an evangelist at heart, and wherever I go, whether I'm on set filming or traveling, I make it my mission to tell people about Jesus. I also pray for people all the time, even those I don't know. For me, serving God is my ultimate purpose, and everything I do flows from that calling. I hold a bachelor's degree in theology from Panther Faith Biblical Institute, and I've also taken courses at the College of Biblical Studies and Houston Community College where I studied film. I'm a licensed notary and CPR certified. I love to travel, read my Bible, shop, and eat, and I'm always open to new opportunities in both ministry and the entertainment industry.

Ten minutes with Carolyn

01What do you attribute your success to?

I give all the glory to God. That's where I attribute my success to the Lord Jesus Christ. If it wasn't for the Lord Jesus, if it wasn't for the Lord on my side, where would I be? What would I do? Where would I go? But you also have to put in some work. Like 2 Timothy 2:15 says, study to show thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the Word of truth. We gotta study. Whatever you like to do, you need to do some research. You gotta do some research, too. So it's about trusting God first, but also doing the work and studying to be prepared.

02What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

First, I tell them this: Matthew 6:33, seek ye first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all of these things will be added unto you. And Psalm 37:4 says if you delight yourself in Him, He'll give you the desires of your heart. Whatever your heart desires, seek Him first, and He'll give it to you. So if you want to be anything in life, you just have to trust in God. Also, Proverbs 3:5-6 says trust in the Lord God with all thy heart and all thy soul and all thy ways acknowledge Him, and He will direct your path. Whatever you want to be in life, follow your dream. It's never too late to do what you love. Don't give up on your dreams.

03What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

Ministry is easy for me. In the film industry, you don't always know what's going to happen. When you're doing submissions and auditions, you may not get the job, but that doesn't mean I'm gonna quit. You just keep going. You apply for something else, you don't get that one, but you know what? Don't give up on your dreams. It's never too late to do what you love. You just have to keep pushing forward and not let rejection stop you from pursuing what you're passionate about.

04What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

Honesty is the best policy. And like Jesus said, love one another as I have loved you. You gotta show love to people. You gotta meet them where they are. Everybody's not on the same level as you, you know what I mean? You gotta meet them where they are. And when it comes to dealing with difficult people, Romans 12:21 says vengeance is mine, I'll do the payback, so you just give it to God. You don't have to worry about folks, just put them in God's hands. It's about showing love, being honest, and trusting God to handle the rest.
