About Carrie

I have been a dietitian for 13 years since getting my license in 2013. I run my own S-Corp business called The Home Cooking Dietitian, focusing on counseling and culinary dietetics including recipe development for brands. I have a master's in nutritional science from Cal State Los Angeles completed in 2011 and an undergraduate degree in broadcast journalism from University of Colorado at Boulder in 2000. My passion was originally broadcasting but I transitioned to dietetics after moving to Los Angeles.

Ten minutes with Carrie

01What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

Don't do it unless you balance doing what you love with creating financial well-being. You have to be resilient because you will face many rejections. You also need presence on social media, a website, and networking events.

02What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

I value making an impact on clients by helping them feel confident in the kitchen and build healthy habits. Being authentic and creative is important. I want to connect with people I work with and brands that align with my beliefs. I also value my time and imparting the importance of exercise for mental sanity.
