Her Interview
Ten minutes with Carrie
01What do you attribute your success to?
Getting comfortable being uncomfortable. Really just being willing to grow outside of my comfort zone. I've always kind of had a can-do attitude so I tackle everything with that mindset that I'll conquer it.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
If I didn't feel a little wheezy in my stomach and I wasn't pushing myself hard enough, that always kind of stayed with me because it wasn't necessarily fear, it was just that I was doing something new.
03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
Always ask questions. I think that's been huge in my career because when you ask questions you're looking for understanding and knowledge. And just knowing that you - why not you, right?
04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
The speed at which things are changing because of AI, with tons of information coming at us. It's important to distinguish good information from bad. Opportunities include fewer people coming into the field than retiring creating huge need, and wealth management has huge opportunity for women to provide other women good advice.
05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
Wanting the best for the person next to you. When advising clients, doing so because I want them to be in a better spot after they met you than before.
