Q

What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

The best career advice I’ve ever received is: “You can and you will—never give up and always keep pushing forward—but allow yourself the time you need to grieve and grow,” which guided me when I stepped down from a District Manager role and eventually led me back to writing.

Q

What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

My advice to young women entering this industry is to lead by example, take care of yourself mentally, physically, and emotionally, and show that you can make a difference and be successful while overcoming challenges and inspiring those around you.

Q

The biggest challenge—and opportunity—in my field right now is balancing the demands of leading a full-time store, pursuing my writing, and being fully present for my sons, my family, and my faith.

The values most important to me in my work and personal life are compassion, support, and using my experiences to help and uplift others.
