Her Story
About Carrie
Carrie Seidenfeld brings about 8 years of experience to her work in fashion buying and merchandising and product development. She pursued this path after realizing in high school that the business side of fashion, including buying, merchandising, and product creation, offered the direction she sought. Seidenfeld holds a Bachelor's degree in Fashion Textiles and a Master's of Professional Studies in Fashion Merchandising and Retail Management. In her typical day, she reviews inventory data to guide new product development, collaborates with factories and her design team to build lines she believes will sell, assembles orders, and serves as the approval authority for those orders. She values work-life balance above all, along with collaboration and organization in her professional efforts. As a woman in the industry, Seidenfeld notes the challenge of translating intuitive insights into explanations for management teams that may lack detailed understanding. Her advice to young professionals is to ask confidently for what they want, recognize that they are not bound to any single role, and prioritize their own well-being since work is work and they are themselves.
