Currently serving as Operations Manager at Active Security Co in St. Petersburg, Florida, Carrie has dedicated more than 20 years to ensuring seamless operations, coordinating service calls, managing vendor relations, and maintaining high standards of customer satisfaction. I attribute my success to over 30 years of experience in the security industry and the invaluable guidance of the wonderful mentors I’ve had along the way.
What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
The best career advice I’ve ever received is to keep learning. No matter how much experience you gain, there’s always something new to explore, whether it’s emerging technologies, industry trends, or leadership skills. Staying curious and committed to growth has allowed me to adapt, stay relevant, and continually improve in my career.
What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
I would advise young women entering my industry to stay strong. This field can be challenging, and confidence in your abilities is key. Trust yourself, stand your ground, and don’t be afraid to take on opportunities, even if they feel daunting. Resilience, determination, and a strong sense of self will help you navigate obstacles and succeed.
What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
The most important values to me in both my work and personal life are creativity, connection, and compassion. I love expressing myself through creative outlets, like making collages—one of my favorites is a collection of ticket stubs from every place my husband and I have traveled. I also have a deep love for animals, which reflects my caring and empathetic nature. These values guide how I approach my work, my relationships, and the way I experience life.
