Cassandra Barron
I’ve been working in hospitality my entire career here in Las Vegas, and I have 23 years of management experience across hospitality and retail. In my current role as housekeeping supervisor/manager, which I’ve held for about 3-4 years, I found a deep passion for working with people. I believe that to truly understand any role, you have to physically immerse yourself in it, which is why I started as an actual housekeeper before moving into management, even though I was already older when I began. My goal right now is to work with my employees to help them achieve their personal and professional goals, whether that’s learning to be faster, mastering a sequence of service, or reaching other milestones. I love helping people set goals, surpass them, and then set new ones. Beyond my hospitality career, this past year has been transformative as I’ve become a published author with 7 books on Amazon. My first book was a healing memoir written to help women feel connected and understand they are not alone in their struggles. My most recent book, ‘Four Paws, One Heart,’ is my favorite and incorporates my deep love for animals and personal experiences after recently losing one of my pets. I’m not out for the money with my writing; I’m focused on leaving a legacy for my children and grandchildren and helping people heal. I’m independently published and do everything solo, having figured it all out on my own. None of this would be possible without the continued love and support of my husband, my children, and my grandmother, who have been my strength and foundation throughout this journey.

What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to my consistency and the way I work with people. I’ve always taken pride in showing up, doing the job right, and continuing to learn. Over time, I realized that real success comes from how you lead others—supporting your team, coaching them, and holding everyone to a standard while still treating people with respect. I also stay adaptable and solution-focused, which has helped me navigate challenges and keep moving forward.
What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
The best advice I’ve received is to focus on solutions, not problems. In fast-paced environments, it’s easy to get caught up in what’s going wrong, but I’ve learned that strong leaders stay calm, assess the situation, and move things forward. That mindset has helped me stay effective and support my team, even during challenging situations.
What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
I would tell young women to believe in their ability and not hesitate to take up space in the room. This industry can be fast-paced and demanding, but confidence, consistency, and a strong work ethic go a long way. I’d also encourage them to ask questions, keep learning, and find mentors who support their growth. Most importantly, don’t be afraid to speak up and advocate for yourself—you’ve earned your place. At the same time, it’s important to stay connected to your personal goals and set aside time for yourself. Taking care of your well-being and having balance is what allows you to grow, stay focused, and succeed long-term.
What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
From my experience, one of the biggest challenges right now is maintaining high standards while teams are constantly being asked to adapt and do more with less, which can impact morale and consistency if it’s not managed well. At the same time, I see a real opportunity in how we lead and develop our people—when you invest in coaching, stay present, and build trust within your team, you create stronger performance and better retention. For me, the challenge and the opportunity go hand in hand, because it really comes down to leadership—how we support our teams while still delivering results
What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
Balance is everything to me. As a mother, I understand how challenging it can be to navigate the responsibilities of family while still honoring the needs we have as women. It’s not always easy, but it’s essential to find that balance—to take care of yourself and create space for something that is truly your own.
For me, that space is writing. It has become both an outlet and a purpose. I am deeply passionate about helping others heal, especially in a world where many people are struggling silently and unsure of how to move forward. Through my writing, I hope to offer connection, understanding, and a sense of direction for those working through their own challenges.
My work has never been driven by financial gain, but by a desire to create something meaningful—something that leaves a lasting impact on my children, my grandchildren, and those who may find comfort in my words.
I also believe that growth requires openness. The ability to accept constructive criticism, while often difficult, is essential in any area of life. It allows us to improve, evolve, and become better versions of ourselves. In the same way, I believe in perseverance—continuing forward even when the path feels uncertain—and in recognizing that guidance from others is often rooted in care and a genuine hope for our success.
