Her Story

About Cassandra

Cassie is a Washington, D.C. native who has built both her life and career around relationships. While she has spent more than two decades in technology search and consulting, she is equally proud of the life she has built outside of work as a wife and mother of two boys. She is a lifelong Commanders and Capitals fan and values family, friendships, hard work, and being someone the people in her life can always count on.

Her Interview

Ten minutes with Cassandra

01What do you attribute your success to?

Relationships, hard work, and consistency. I’ve always believed that how you treat people matters, especially in a relationship-driven business. I try to listen, be honest, follow through, and do what I say I’m going to do. Many of the relationships I have today have been built over years, and I think that trust has been one of the biggest drivers of my success.

02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

Play the long game. Careers change, companies change, and markets change, but your reputation follows you. Do good work, treat people well, and never underestimate the value of the relationships you build along the way.

03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

Build real relationships and don’t be afraid to put yourself out there. Ask questions, speak up, and be willing to take on things that stretch you. You don’t have to have everything figured out before taking the next step. Work hard, be someone people can count on, and protect your reputation. Those things will take you a long way.

04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

One of the biggest challenges right now is how quickly the talent market is changing. Companies are looking for people who can do more than bring technical expertise. They want leaders who understand the business, can adapt quickly, and can actually execute. AI is accelerating that even further. I think the opportunity is helping companies get really clear on what they need rather than simply replacing the person who was in the role before.

05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

Relationships, trust, and being someone people can count on are incredibly important to me, both personally and professionally. I believe in being honest, showing up for people, and doing what you say you’re going to do. I also value family and balance. I work hard and care deeply about what I do, but the people in my life will always come first.
