Her Interview

Ten minutes with Cassandra

01What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute my success to faith, resilience, life lessons and a clear sense of purpose. Every challenge has strengthened my determination to use storytelling and creative media to inspire healing, empower others and create meaningful change. By remaining focused on serving others through storytelling, media and creative expression, I have been able to transform adversity into purpose and build platforms that empower, inspire and create lasting impact. My guiding belief is, "I refuse to be defeated."

02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

The best career advice I ever received was to never give up and stay true to myself, to my purpose and build something that aligns with my values, not just what is popular or profitable.

And no matter what cards I have been dealt with in life, never throw them all back in at once, trade them out as needed until I am holding a winning hand.

That advice taught me that long-term success comes from authenticity, consistency and serving others through your unique gifts.

As I continue to grow as a filmmaker, storyteller, artist and entrepreneur, I have learned that opportunities come and go, but purpose creates lasting impact. By focusing on meaningful work and remaining committed to my vision, I have been able to build a foundation that reflects who I am and what I hope to contribute to the world.

03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

Believe in your voice, trust your vision and do not wait for permission to pursue your dreams. The media and entertainment industry can be competitive, but your unique experiences, perspective and creativity are your greatest strengths. Invest in your education, continue developing your skills and be willing to start before everything is perfect.

I would also encourage young women to build strong networks, seek mentors, remain professional and stay resilient when challenges arise. Success rarely happens overnight, but consistency, perseverance and a clear sense of purpose can open doors that talent alone cannot. Most importantly, never allow anyone else to define your worth or limit what you believe is possible for your future.

04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

One of the biggest challenges in the media and entertainment industry is standing out in an increasingly crowded digital landscape. With so much content being created every day, creators must find authentic ways to connect with audiences while maintaining quality, consistency and meaningful storytelling.

At the same time, the greatest opportunity is that technology has made it possible for independent creators to build their own platforms, reach global audiences and maintain ownership of their work. Through digital media, streaming platforms, publishing, podcasting and social media, creators now have more opportunities than ever to share diverse stories, amplify underrepresented voices and create lasting impact without relying solely on traditional gatekeepers.

05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

The values that guide both my work and personal life are faith, integrity, resilience, compassion and purpose. I believe in treating people with respect, leading with authenticity and remaining committed to my principles even when faced with challenges. These values have helped me navigate adversity, build meaningful relationships and stay focused on my long-term vision.

I am also deeply committed to service and empowerment. Whether through storytelling, media, art or personal interactions, I strive to create work that inspires hope, encourages growth and helps others recognize their value and potential. For me, success is not only measured by achievement but by the positive impact I have on the lives of others.
