Her Story
About Cassidy
I've been in the tech software field for about five years now. My main role is Senior Instructional Designer at Stone Ridge Software, where I've developed things like a five-part cybersecurity training to keep our organization compliant and secure. I also serve as Director of Technology on the board for ATD San Antonio, which is the Association of Talent Development, focusing on technology enablement and strategy for talent development pros in the area. I hold a Master's of Science in Instructional Design and Education Technology and am a certified Scrum Master. What really drives me is the intersection of technology and learning and development, training technical developers and software engineers while helping others in the field.
Her Interview
Ten minutes with Cassidy
01What do you attribute your success to?
My faith and personal relationship with God is huge, and second to that my willingness to lead with curiosity. Especially with AI and emerging technologies, approaching things with curiosity helps me stay adaptable and help others partner with technology rather than fear it.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
Focus on what you can control. One of my best managers taught me not to focus so much on things you can't control because there are other factors and stakeholders, but do what you can to the best of your ability and then hold everything else as light as a feather.
03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
Be curious and show up authentically as yourself. Let what makes you unique shine through your work instead of trying to copy exactly what someone else is doing. That's what helps you stand out.
04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
The biggest thing is having a willingness to dive in and learn, especially with AI and emerging technologies where we're all figuring things out. If you're not curious and open to digging in, it can be difficult to move forward as technology changes how we work.
05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
Integrity is big for me, staying true to myself and doing work to the best of my ability to serve and advance others. I love imparting to others and seeing that moment when something clicks for them.
