Her Story
About Cassidy
Cassidy Miller is a strategic operations leader in higher education, currently serving as Manager of Scheduling within the Division of Academic Affairs' Academic Operations Department at Front Range Community College. Over the past two years, she has built a newly established department from the ground up, developing college-wide scheduling standards, creating new processes and training programs, and leading cross-functional committees that shape how the college's class schedules are developed. Her leadership extends across three campuses, where she coordinates academic operations for a wide range of disciplines, from Nursing and Health & Wellness to Engineering, Business, and the Social Sciences. In recognition of her expertise, she was selected by executive leadership as a subject matter expert and invited panelist for the Ad Astra scheduling software implementation across Colorado's community college system.
Before entering higher education, Miller spent more than four years at the Weld County Department of Human Services as an Employee Support and Resource Coordinator, where she supported employees delivering critical human services such as child protection and public assistance. In that role, she partnered with leadership across nine divisions on organizational development and strategic planning, directed internal communications campaigns, and overhauled the department's training program, a change that drove a 140% increase in staff attendance within a single year. Earlier in her career, she worked in healthcare and wellness settings, including several years at Benchmark Medical Group, where she managed clinical scheduling, led fitness and rehabilitation programs, and supported patient care across chiropractic, nutrition, and physical therapy services.
Miller holds a Bachelor of Science from Colorado State University in Applied Social Psychology and Cultural Anthropology, earned in 2014, and spent six months studying abroad in Adelaide, Australia through the University of South Australia. She holds additional credentials including Human Subjects Research Certification, PowerPlate and GNAT trainer certifications, Level 3 Security Awareness, and First Aid/CPR. Outside of her professional work, she is active in philanthropic efforts with the EcoTeach Foundation, having volunteered at a sea turtle conservation hatchery in Costa Rica, and supports the Estes Valley Library District Foundation. Grounded in values of collaboration, integrity, and curiosity, she approaches her work with a systems-level perspective, aiming to align people, strategy, and operations in ways that create lasting organizational impact.
Her Interview
Ten minutes with Cassidy
01What do you attribute your success to?
I believe strong leadership is about lifting others up. I've benefited from mentors who challenged me and encouraged me to grow, and I want to do the same for others. Organizations become stronger when leaders create space for different voices to be heard and help others develop their own leadership potential.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
Don't undersell what you've accomplished. You're not "just" anything. When you connect to the mission and vision of your organization, it becomes so much more empowering and ties you to the bigger picture.
03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
I encourage them to always stay curious and remain open to growth and learning. Stay humble, keep moving forward, and find the lesson within every experience, whether it's good or bad.
04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
One of the biggest challenges is ensuring access to higher education for students and lifelong learners, including navigating related policy issues. Operationally, transitioning from separate campuses to a one-college model has been challenging, but we're moving forward together as part of our strategic plan.
05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
Collaboration, integrity, and curiosity matter most to me. Collaboration means bringing the right people together to build systems and achieve success. Integrity means being transparent and making fair decisions. Curiosity means never assuming I have all the answers and always remaining open to learning from my experiences.
