Her Story
About cassie
I spent the early part of my career in finance across a variety of different roles, and then I moved into tech sales. What inspired me to start The Ripple Effect was struggling with my own mental health for quite a long time, and wanting to use what I've been through to help other people. With The Ripple Effect, our whole mission is inspiring everyday acts of kindness that transform lives and foster mental well-being in our community. We do that through partnering with local businesses on citywide activations and intentional acts of kindness. We've done a variety of different community activations with local businesses. We did a holiday kindness bingo in December with 25 businesses, which really just was a way to make it fun for people to go out and do random acts of kindness. In February, we did another activation with coffee shops across the city, where people could go into the shop and take a note of inspiration and leave one for a stranger, and it facilitated thousands of notes that were being exchanged. Through all of this, we're helping to remind people that they're not alone, that they're more connected than they think, and in these small moments, we're also facilitating connections between people, starting conversations, allowing people to open up about mental health, and really just building a world that shows up with compassion and kindness.

01What do you attribute your success to?
I don't really see it as myself doing something, you know, like looking at myself saying, wow, I'm so proud that I did this. It's God using me as a vessel for his love and his light, and just being able to go out and do that in the community. I'm just grateful and humbled to be able to be supported by so many amazing businesses here in St. Pete who also are aligned with the mission and believe that everyday acts of kindness can truly create such a positive ripple effect in our community. Honestly, for me, it was God that really pulled me through some of the hard times of my life, so I think just leaning on Him helped me reconnect with my faith, and helped me get through really difficult seasons in my life, and knowing that I have the support of family and friends as well always helped.
