What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to the support and guidance of strong leaders and mentors throughout my journey. My parents instilled in me a strong work ethic, the value of transparency, and a commitment to helping others. I’m also grateful for peers who became friends and offered support and mentorship when I needed it most. Additionally, overcoming challenges and standing up for what is right—not just for myself but for others—has played a significant role in shaping my path and achievements.
What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
The best career advice I’ve received came from my mentor and supervisor, Trevor Laurence: “I reserve the right to become smarter.” This simple yet powerful reminder inspires me to embrace continuous learning, trust my judgment, and view every experience as an opportunity to grow and become more effective in my work.
What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
My advice to young women entering this industry is to embrace your uniqueness and never shy away from speaking up or standing out. Your perspective is not just welcome - it’s essential. Be bold in voicing your ideas, advocating for your needs, and pursuing what you truly want in your career. Remember, it’s more than okay to be different; it’s what drives innovation and progress.
What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
Women in tech face ongoing challenges such as gender bias, discrimination, and lack of access to mentorship and transparent promotion processes, all of which limit their advancement into leadership roles. Work-life balance policies, daily microaggressions, and persistent stereotypes further hinder progress. Recent economic shifts have led to reduced support programs and resources, while online harassment and cultural barriers continue to restrict opportunities, especially for women entrepreneurs
What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
The values most important to me in both my work and personal life are honesty, transparency, and empathy. I believe these principles build trust, foster authentic connections, and create a foundation for meaningful and respectful relationships.
