Catharine Knight, CCLA
Catharine Knight has spent more than three decades building a respected career in the insurance healthcare industry, combining deep operational knowledge with a passion for relationship-driven sales and client service. She began her journey in 1993 in Austin, Texas, working as a notary adjuster before advancing into claims adjusting roles and eventually transitioning into marketing and business development. Over the years, she developed a reputation for turning challenges into opportunities, helping clients navigate complex claims and healthcare processes while building strong, lasting partnerships across the industry. Today, she serves as a senior sales executive and national account leader known for her consultative approach, strategic thinking, and ability to drive measurable business growth.
Raised in a military family, Catharine credits much of her success to the work ethic and discipline she learned from her father and grandfather. Her father balanced careers as a history professor, journalist, and military serviceman, modeling dedication, resilience, and integrity that would later shape Catharine’s own leadership philosophy. Throughout her career, she has embraced every stage of her professional journey, believing that each employer and experience contributed valuable lessons that prepared her for the next opportunity. That mindset has helped her evolve from claims operations into high-level sales, account management, and business development leadership roles within heavily regulated insurance and healthcare environments.
Catharine’s accomplishments reflect both her persistence and her ability to lead with confidence and authenticity. One of her proudest career milestones came when she earned the prestigious “Top Gun” sales award — becoming not only the first woman, but the first person in company history to achieve the honor. In addition to her professional work, she is the founder of Handwrittennotes17, a kindness initiative that has distributed more than 34,000 handwritten notes across 28 states and nine countries. Whether mentoring colleagues, building strategic partnerships, or serving clients, Catharine approaches every interaction with empathy, professionalism, and a belief in treating others with the same respect and care she would want for her own family.
