Cathy Frankel
Cathy Frankel is an accomplished aviation professional and Ground Instructor at PSA Airlines, Inc., bringing a wealth of experience as an ATP-rated pilot and certified flight instructor. She specializes in multi-engine and single-engine aircraft operations, airline training, and flight instruction for new hire pilots on the CRJ700/900. Cathy is passionate about mentoring pilots and advocating for women in aviation, ensuring that her students receive both high-quality instruction and guidance to build strong professional foundations.
Cathy’s career began in education and administration, including work as a substitute teacher and in office management, before transitioning into aviation. She earned her Bachelor of Business Administration (B.B.A.) in Business Administration and Management from the University of Phoenix and completed commercial multi-engine and single-engine aviation training through Airline Transport Professionals. Over the years, she has accumulated extensive experience in Part 135 operations, independent flight instruction, and airline ground instruction, combining technical expertise with a commitment to safety, professionalism, and student development.
Recognized for her contributions to aviation, Cathy was selected for inclusion in the 2026 edition of Influential Women representing Kingman, Arizona. The best advice I ever received was to not let anything stand in the way of achieving my goals — find your passion, be unique, and be open to trying new things.

I encourage young women to be their best selves each day, learn from others, be curious, ask questions, and be open to trying new things. Seek mentorship and strive to make a positive impact.
What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
I am focused on teaching as many students as possible and providing them with a meaningful and high-quality professional aviation education.

I prioritize focusing on goals, following dreams, leading by example, being open and honest, respecting others, and making a difference in the lives of those I teach and mentor.
