About Cathy
Catherine Loi has spent 26 years building her career in the telecommunications industry. She joined Verizon, then known as Bell Atlantic, after a friend alerted her to an opportunity and has since advanced through multiple organizations and departments fueled by her enthusiasm for technology and ongoing self-learning. In her current role in network operations, Loi leads a team of 100 technicians and supervisors with a focus on keeping the network fully operational around the clock, allocating resources effectively, and ensuring customers receive excellent service. She attributes her professional achievements to her willingness to seize opportunities and prove herself in a field traditionally viewed as male-dominant. Loi also volunteers as a big sister with the nonprofit Big Brothers Big Sisters and enjoys outdoor activities such as walking in the park as well as travel.

01What do you attribute your success to?
I am where I am right now, you know, and it's not easy to be where I am, especially in this field. The technology, because at one point, they think that it is only, like, a male-dominant. But, you know, I feel like if you want something, you have to fight for it, and you have to prove it.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
Always take any opportunities that arise, and also always tell yourself that you can do it.
