Ten minutes with Cecily
01What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to a strong foundation of love, encouragement, and belief from my parents and grandparents, who consistently instilled confidence in me and trusted my ability to figure things out. That early support gave me the courage to take risks and stay grounded in who I am. I also credit my lifelong commitment to learning and reflection. I am always asking questions, seeking feedback, and taking time to understand what is working and what needs to shift. That combination of support, curiosity, and self-reflection has shaped both my personal growth and my professional path.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
The best advice I’ve ever received was to apply for opportunities even when I didn’t feel fully qualified. Growth rarely happens when we wait until we feel completely ready, and many of the most meaningful roles and experiences in my career came from taking that leap. That advice taught me to trust my ability to learn, adapt, and rise to new challenges, and it continues to shape how I approach both my work and my life.
03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
I would encourage young women entering this industry to invest just as much in self-trust as they do in credentials and training. Skills, frameworks, and certifications matter, but your ability to listen deeply, ask thoughtful questions, and build authentic relationships is just as powerful. Be willing to learn, to reflect, and to stay curious, but don’t rush to shrink yourself or adopt someone else’s voice to fit in. This work is at its best when it is rooted in integrity, honesty, and lived experience. Lead with clarity, stay open to growth, and remember that your presence and perspective are part of the value you bring.
04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
One of the biggest challenges in leadership development and coaching right now is navigating change fatigue and overwhelm. Many professionals and organizations are hungry for growth but are exhausted by constant pivots, competing priorities, and one-size-fits-all solutions that don’t translate into real behavior change. At the same time, this presents a powerful opportunity. There is growing demand for work that is grounded, human, and practical — support that helps people slow down, think clearly, strengthen emotional intelligence, and apply tools in a way that is sustainable. Leaders and individuals are increasingly seeking depth, alignment, and accountability rather than hype, which creates space for thoughtful coaching and development work that truly supports long-term performance and well-being.
05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
Transparency and honesty are foundational values in both my professional and personal life. I believe trust is built when communication is clear, expectations are named, and people feel safe to speak openly, even when conversations are uncomfortable. I’m also deeply aligned with the principles of The Four Agreements by Don Miguel Ruiz, particularly being impeccable with my word, not taking things personally, avoiding assumptions, and always doing my best. These values guide how I show up with clients, colleagues, and loved ones, shaping the way I communicate, lead, and make decisions. They allow me to work with integrity, compassion, and accountability, while creating environments where growth and mutual respect can thrive.
