Celeste Seaman is a freelance interior designer based in Dallas, Texas, with approximately six years of experience in the interior design industry. Her path into design began shortly after the COVID period, building on a strong foundation in furniture retail and custom drapery sales, where she worked closely with designers selecting fabrics and materials for residential and commercial projects. These early roles gave her a practical understanding of products, client needs, and the design industry as a whole, shaping her transition into full-time interior design.

Today, Celeste balances freelance work with the continued development of her own design company, taking on projects that range from early concept development to final installation. Her work blends digital design and research with hands-on sourcing, including frequent showroom visits to experience materials such as tile, stone, and textiles in person. She is known for her client-centered approach, placing strong emphasis on relationship-building and collaboration, often developing long-term connections that extend beyond individual projects. Her design process prioritizes both functionality and storytelling, supported by thoughtful, layered material selections and immersive presentations.

Celeste is currently pursuing a BFA in Interior Design with a focus on sustainable design, alongside working toward NCIDQ certification. Her long-term vision is to launch a biophilic-focused design company centered on wellness, sustainability, and the integration of nature into built environments. She is especially passionate about creating spaces that enhance well-being while remaining deeply personal and reflective of each client’s lifestyle, combining technical skill with an evolving philosophy of health-conscious, human-centered design.

Q

What do you attribute your success to?

I would say the biggest thing for me that helped me shift and grow was getting uncomfortable to get comfortable, pushing myself to do things that might not feel comfortable in the moment, but that led me to grow in ways I needed to in order to get to where I am. I'm also really open to feedback and taking in constructive criticism. I feel like when you work in a lot of different areas, a lot of people see the work you're doing, and there are things they may see that you don't, so keeping that open and just taking it in is important. Staying disciplined has been crucial too. I feel like whenever you first get into the industry, it's really hard to kind of break through, but just staying disciplined and sticking to your plan and your path, and knowing that as long as it's something that you love, it's going to work out and come into fruition.

Q

What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

I would say just getting out of your comfort zone. I feel like whenever you're first getting into the design industry, it's really easy to get into your head and second-guess your decisions and things like that, and worry about whether your peers or the clients are going to like what you put together. But I'd say just having the confidence and putting yourself out there, and the right people will find you and it'll work out the way it's supposed to. I think just finding that confidence and finding your own voice and your style and not being afraid to show that and just kind of owning it is so important.
