Her Interview
Ten minutes with Celina
01What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
The best career advice is to be willing to adapt to change, especially in the tech world where there's change every day. Believe in yourself but be willing to adapt and change, because if you are not good with change in the tech world, then you're not going to do very well.
02What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
Don't ever feel like you can't do it just because it's a male-dominated industry or because you're not a man. I came in with a business degree, not tech, and wasn't confident at first, but after training I saw female trainers who had succeeded, so if they can do it there's no reason why I can't. Don't limit yourself or feel like a fraud; this is an industry I never expected to be in but I've closed huge deals.
03What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
Opportunities are something I have to create for myself right now because I started on the acquisitions team in August and it's a year commitment. I create opportunities with customers on large deals. I have options to keep growing as a sales rep, go into medium business, enterprise, become a coach or manager, or move into marketing. But at the moment with only a couple months in, I'm having to create these opportunities myself.
04What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
Authenticity and independence.
