Q

What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute my success to beginning my career as a nurse and pursuing my master’s degree to expand my clinical skills and broaden my impact. Today, I play a critical role in family medicine and dialysis care, combining hands-on patient work with research that supports long-term wellness outcomes.

Q

What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

The best career advice I ever received was to be patient—with your patients, your team, and yourself. Growth in healthcare is a marathon, not a sprint. This guiding principle has helped me navigate high-pressure environments, shifting roles, and the demands of ongoing education, all while maintaining compassion at the heart of my practice.

Q

What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

To young women entering the healthcare field or aspiring to leadership roles, my advice is this: stay organized, stay humble, and always be open to learning. Every patient, every colleague, and every challenge is an opportunity to grow. I also encourage professionals to prioritize balance—something I achieve through family travel and quality time away from work. For me, success is not just about advancing in your career but also about maintaining a positive mindset and finding fulfillment in life beyond the workplace.

Q

What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

One of the biggest challenges I have faced in the industry is achieving work-life balance—particularly balancing the demands of research with the need to give patients the proper amount of care. It is a constant effort to ensure both aspects receive the time and dedication they deserve.

Q

What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

My core values, both personal and professional, are rooted in quality time. Family is the most important part of my life, and I make it a priority to ensure we experience life fully together. Alongside this, I value continued education, as I believe that ongoing growth—both personally and professionally—is key to providing the best care and living a meaningful life.
