Her Story

About Chamille

I am a human resources leader with extensive experience in senior living, healthcare, and professional services, currently serving as Human Resource Director at The Bristol of Tampa, a role I have held since July 2025, where I lead all human resources functions for a senior living community, including recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, performance management, and compliance, partner with executive leadership to align HR strategy with operational and organizational goals, ensure compliance with federal, state, and healthcare-specific employment regulations, and oversee employee engagement initiatives and workforce planning.

I am also the President and Owner of D&M Towing LLC, a self-employed role I have held since April 2019, where I manage business operations and strategic growth.

Prior to my current role, I served as Senior Human Resource Director at Vertical Health Services and Senior Human Resources Manager at Stravisor, where I developed and executed strategic HR initiatives supporting organizational growth, managed and mentored a team of eight HR professionals, oversaw full-cycle recruitment, led performance management systems, conducted employee relations investigations, created and updated HR policies, partnered with senior leadership on succession planning and workforce strategy, and managed the HR departmental budget. I also served as Executive Director at Caregivers Inn for ten months, where I served as an Assisted Living Administrator.

Across my career in human resources, senior living administration, and business ownership, my work has been driven by a commitment to building strong, engaged teams, ensuring compliance, and creating cultures where employees and organizations can thrive. Whether I am leading HR strategy for a senior living community, mentoring HR professionals, or managing business operations, I bring a strategic mindset, strong leadership skills, and a dedication to excellence that supports both employee well-being and organizational success. I am proud of the work I have done throughout my career and excited to continue making a difference in the human resources and senior living sectors.

Her Interview

Ten minutes with Chamille

01What do you attribute your success to?

My grandmother, who was a Lead nurse in healthcare. I watched how she operated her buildings and employees with compassion.

02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

That I can't fix everything. I try to be everywhere and help with everything, but sometimes I have to step back.

03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

Prioritize your day. Be very open and diverse to the people you're going to serve. Look at it as serving and assisting and helping, not just doing a job.

04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

Lack of compassion leading to neglect and high turnover. Retention is a huge challenge because healthcare has become a revolving door.

05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

Integrity and good work ethics. Just being a good person covers everything, regardless of religion, culture, or background.
