Her Story

About Chanel

I've been in my field for over 23 years, and my career has been deeply rooted in education and workforce development, focusing on organizational change that truly has a social impact. My work revolves around improving social systems, and my research focuses in that area as well. Upon completion of my PhD, which helped me really fine-tune my lens in this space, I was able to rebrand my LLC to focus more on social impact research and evaluation, and change management initiatives. My main areas of expertise are learning, leadership, and organizational change - that's learning development, leadership development, organizational change development and management. I have a Bachelor's of Science in Health Sciences, a Master's of Science in Human Services, and a PhD in education with a focus on global leadership and change. My career has evolved from the early part where I was very deep in health sciences and human services, and I've been a dean of academics, a dean of health sciences, taught as a faculty member in health sciences in higher education, worked with city government, state government, and nonprofit organizations. Everywhere that I go, in spaces that I work in, there's going to be some element of learning and development taking place, because that's the heart of who I am.

Her Interview

Ten minutes with Chanel

01What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute my success to my faith in God, my obedience to Him, and my persistence. I choose to never give up, even in the face of adversity. My faith has been the foundation that has carried me through everything, including my journey as a breast cancer survivor and all the challenges I've faced in building my business and career over more than 20 years. It's that combination of faith, obedience, and refusing to quit that has allowed me to keep moving forward and making an impact.

02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

The best career advice I've ever received was to be myself. I've also given back that advice to others, because people appreciate your genuineness. The best gift you have to give anyone is the gift of self. When you're authentic and true to who you are, that's when you can really connect with people and make a meaningful impact. I've carried that with me throughout my entire career, and it's shaped how I show up in every space I work in.
