Her Interview
Ten minutes with Chanel
01What do you attribute your success to?
I would attribute my success to my parents, God, and my education.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
The best advice I've gotten is that don't feel discouraged if you have interest in other areas or things that are unlikely, because you can always find the overlapping and the ways they connect, and I think that's where innovation happens.
03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
Be very hungry in the sense of always go online to search, connect with people, go to conventions, go to workshops. Really be hungry to just learn more, and it doesn't always happen in the educational space, it can happen in your day-to-day with your friends, with your family. Just keeping going for what you desire.
04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
The biggest challenge right now is that we're in such a fast-paced culture in terms of technology. Things are moving really quick. However, that can also be a great thing, because there's a lot of innovation happening, but it just takes more initiative to be hungry, be curious, ask questions.
05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
Remaining this strong integrity and work ethic, because I know if I agree to be a part of something and take responsibility, I always want to make sure that I'm connecting and teaching. Achieving exactly what is being asked of me, getting projects done in a timely manner is always important, and creating projects that are meaningful and impactful and inspiring.
