Her Interview
Ten minutes with Chanel
01What do you attribute your success to?
My drive comes from wanting to make sure my family is good and seeing clients achieve their goals of homeownership. It's especially rewarding helping first-time homebuyers and single mothers who never thought they could accomplish that, and seeing them get into their homes at the end is what keeps me going.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
The best advice I've received is to lead with your heart. I don't work off of wanting to make a certain amount of money. I really just work off of helping as many people as I can, and that's my biggest focus.
03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
The biggest advice is to stay as involved as you can with networks, different groups, and organizations in the area when you come into the industry. Our business is driven off of organic relationships, so come in and start being involved in as many organizations as possible to make natural organic connections with people who will trust you and your clients.
04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
Some of the challenges now is just the market. The prices of the homes are high, a lot of people are holding off because of the economy and high prices, and they're not wanting to take the next step to take on the finances of a mortgage.
