Her Story

About Charity

I've been in the restaurant industry for 15 years starting at Chick-fil-A as a team member doing all positions. I worked food trucks becoming manager, then general manager for 6 years where I moved to Dallas and opened our first Swig location in Fairview Texas plus others. Then became district manager. My expertise is building great culture so people want to show up and hit goals, being people-oriented and retaining staff by caring about them.

01What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

If you don't address it, you bless it - maintain good communication on standards. Be a mentor not too much friend or boss, find the middle ground to care and challenge growth.

02What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

Be you, be passionate, stand firm in your convictions, don't be afraid to be vocal or challenge leaders respectfully. Find time for yourself, pursue hobbies and dreams outside of work, don't let work run your life.

03What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

Retention is a big challenge because the world is more expensive and people often need multiple jobs as one job doesn't pay enough to live on. Paying people what they're worth helps keep them long-term.

04What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

Care - genuinely caring about people and their dreams. Integrity - doing the right thing even when no one is watching. Honesty - being direct about growth areas. Mutual respect for time and boundaries.
