About Charli
Charli Kemp serves as Executive Director of Change the Tune, a Los Angeles-based nonprofit dedicated to education capacity building. Over the past nine years, the organization has operated after-school and summer camps while providing professional development to teachers and educators through revolutionary learning experiences such as food justice gardens and social justice business plans. Kemp's clients have included Oakland Unified, New York City Department of Education, Hayward Unified, and Cambridge Unified. A teaching fellow at Harvard, Kemp travels frequently to Cambridge, Massachusetts, and has also conducted international work including a summer camp in the Bahamas. Kemp earned a B.A. in Economics and Political Science from Spelman College in 2006, an M.A. in Teaching from Pace University in 2009, an MBA from the University of Southern California in 2014, and an Ed.D. in Education Leadership from Harvard University in 2022, following graduation from Los Angeles Center for Enriched Studies in 2002. Kemp is a fellow of the Council for Urban Professionals and the Social Innovation Change Initiative, and published a capstone titled Be Alive: Building the capacity and playlist for an irresistible revolution in 2022.
