01What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success first and foremost to God — my faith has been my foundation, guiding my decisions, work ethic, and how I treat others. It gives me discipline, perseverance, and a sense of purpose in everything I do.
Professionally, I’d say my success comes from a combination of consistency, accountability, and a commitment to excellence. I take pride in staying organized, communicating clearly, and following through on what I say I will do. Over the years, I’ve also learned the value of teamwork — building strong relationships with teams, subcontractors, and clients has been key.
I’m always looking to learn and improve, and I don’t shy away from challenges. I view them as opportunities to grow and deliver better results.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
The best career advice I’ve ever received is to do what you say you’re going to do — and do it well. Reliability builds trust, and trust opens doors.
03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
I would tell young women entering this industry to be confident in what they bring to the table and never feel like they have to prove their worth beyond their work. Construction has traditionally been male-dominated, but there’s absolutely a place for strong, capable women who are willing to learn and lead.
Don’t be afraid to speak up, ask questions, and take on challenges. Confidence, preparation, and professionalism go a long way. Also, find mentors — both men and women — who will support your growth and help you navigate the industry.
Most importantly, stay consistent, work hard, and carry yourself with integrity. Your reputation will follow you, and over time, your results will speak louder than anything else.
04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
One of the biggest challenges in our field right now is managing rising costs, labor shortages, and ongoing supply chain issues. Keeping projects on schedule and within budget requires constant coordination, forecasting, and flexibility.
At the same time, those challenges create opportunities. Companies are looking for experienced professionals who can problem-solve, communicate effectively, and adapt quickly. There’s also a growing emphasis on technology in construction—things like project management software, BIM, and data tracking—which is helping improve efficiency and decision-making.
Another opportunity is the increased focus on quality, safety, and well-managed projects. Clients are placing more value on teams that can deliver consistently and maintain strong relationships throughout the process.
Overall, while the industry has its challenges, it’s also a great time for professionals who are dependable, forward-thinking, and committed to continuous improvement.
05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
The values that are most important to me, both professionally and personally, start with faith, integrity, and accountability. My faith keeps me grounded and guides how I treat people and approach my responsibilities.
Integrity is very important to me — doing the right thing, even when no one is watching, and standing behind my work. Along with that, accountability plays a big role. I believe in taking ownership, following through on commitments, and being someone others can rely on.
I also value respect and teamwork. In this industry, success depends on strong relationships — treating people fairly, communicating clearly, and working toward a common goal.
Finally, I value growth. I’m always looking for ways to improve, both in my career and as a person, and I believe maintaining that mindset is key to long-term success.
