Her Story

About Charlotte

Charlotte Rice is a Financial Advisor building her own financial planning practice with Monastra Financial Group, with a focus on helping women navigate the wealth-building phase of their lives and careers. She works with clients whose financial circumstances may be more complex than traditional planning models account for, including women managing significant educational investments, student loans, variable income, career transitions, and evolving personal goals. Through a thoughtful, education-focused approach, Rice helps clients gain clarity around their finances and develop personalized strategies that support both their long-term financial security and the life they want to build.

Rice began her career in financial services with Lincoln Financial Group, where she spent approximately five years in roles including Inbound Sales Representative and Internal Wholesaler specializing in long-term care insurance. She later spent two years at Morgan Stanley as an Associate, supporting financial advisors and gaining valuable experience in wealth management and client service before becoming a financial advisor in 2026. She credits her mentor, Brian McCabe, with helping her strengthen her presentation skills and professional development. Rice also completed Lincoln Financial’s Wholesaler Institute program and continues to prioritize lifelong learning, including exploring topics such as sustainable investing.

Rice earned a Bachelor of Arts in Art History, Criticism and Conservation from the University of St Andrews in Scotland and pursued additional studies in Public Relations, Advertising, and Applied Communication through Georgetown University School of Continuing Studies. Her experiences studying abroad and navigating her own professional journey have shaped her approach to helping clients define meaningful goals and create financial plans that support them. A member of the National Association of Women Business Owners, Rice is also involved in supporting Philadelphia’s cultural and public media communities, including WHYY and the Philadelphia Opera’s pay-what-you-want ticket program. She is committed to making financial planning more approachable, empowering women to make informed decisions, and helping clients build the confidence and financial foundation to pursue the opportunities that matter most to them.

Ten minutes with Charlotte

01What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute my success to perseverance, continuous learning, and the support of strong mentors throughout my career. Completing the Wholesaler Institute program at Lincoln was a significant achievement for me, particularly because I was navigating challenging personal circumstances at the time. The experience pushed me to grow professionally and personally, and I am proud of the determination it took to complete it. I also credit my mentor, Brian McCabe, for his guidance and encouragement. He helped me strengthen my presentation skills, navigate the demands of the program, and build greater confidence in my abilities. His mentorship, combined with my willingness to embrace challenges and continue developing my skills, has played an important role in my professional success.

02What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

My advice to young women entering the financial services industry is to recognize that working in a traditionally male-dominated field can be a significant advantage. The skills many women develop in their personal lives, such as managing multiple responsibilities, staying organized, balancing competing priorities, listening empathetically, and building trust, are incredibly valuable in this industry. I encourage women to recognize the strength of these skills and use them confidently to build authentic relationships and genuinely help others. While establishing yourself and building a career can require significant effort, there is great fulfillment in creating something that is truly your own and that you can be proud of. I also encourage young women to seek out mentors and women's networking groups that provide support, encouragement, and opportunities to connect with others who understand their experiences.

03What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

The values most important to me in both my work and personal life are continuous learning, personal growth, community, and meaningful connection. My educational experiences, from attending a small all-girls school to studying at the University of St Andrews in Scotland, encouraged me to step outside my comfort zone, expand my perspective, and develop greater confidence in both my personal and professional abilities. I value understanding people, listening to their experiences, and helping them set meaningful goals that align with what they truly want to achieve. I also believe strongly in building community and supporting others, which is reflected in my involvement with the National Association of Women Business Owners, WHYY, and Philadelphia's local arts and theater community. Ultimately, I value authenticity, lifelong learning, and creating meaningful relationships with people who are doing impressive and impactful work.
