About Charu
I work for a frontier AI lab, and my job is to think about the business strategy of new large language models, which involves how to bring them to market, what is the pricing and packaging strategy. And basically everything to do with commercialization of AI as a technology. I have an MBA from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania with a triple major in operations, innovation and entrepreneurship, and strategic management. I also have a CFA certification, and my undergrad was in economics.

01What do you attribute your success to?
It has been the people around me that I've had good fortune of being raised by or mentored by. It's my family first, and then my friends next, and everybody else I've met on the way.
02What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
It's a good idea to not be scared of ambition and to shoot your shot even when it feels very unlikely that you'll actually achieve what we're aiming for. Take care of yourself.
03What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
It's just so new that nobody even understands the challenges; it's akin to building an airplane and making it at the same time. The amount of unknown is the biggest challenge, but this is the future and there's no dearth of opportunity.
04What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
Integrity is probably the foremost, and just deriving joy out of whatever that I'm doing, whether in personal life or professional life, is of utmost importance.
